Website Builder is designed for people with little-to-no design experience. Website Builder's platform is simple and clean, and users will find an enormous collection of templates, all standard features and tools.
Note: SiteBuilder is the same product as WebsiteBuilder.com, Sitelio.com and Sitey.com.
Summary of Pros
- Free domain and email services
All premium plans come with a free domain and email services. -
Free advertising credits
WebsiteBuilder.com offers $300 worth of free advertising credits when you sign up for any one of its premium plans. -
Photo editing
When editing images, you can play with such properties as opacity, alignment, overlay, border roundness, element actions and behaviors, etc. When cropping images, Website Builder provides different standard crops and aspect ratios so you can crop like a pro. -
Element SEO
Website Builder's editor has a function called Element SEO that allows you to add HTML tags to elements on your site, such as buttons, images, videos, etc. With these tags, your website is optimized for search engines. -
Element animation
You can add an animated behavior to any element to make it react to a specified trigger using the Animation function. For example you can make your logo rotate when the mouse is rolled over it, or make an image pop-up when it is clicked. These element behaviours not only help make your website more visually impressive but also provide a more interactive user experience.
Summary of Cons
- Lack of live support
Website Builder's customer support is a little disappointing. They have a knowledgebase and if you need additional assistance, there is support via email. However, there is no phone or live chat support. -
Can't change templates
Once you've chosen a template and began creating a website, you cannot swap templates. If you want to use another template, you will need to create a brand new website. -
Price discrepancies on website
SiteBuilder provides a price and plan compare chart on their website, but it doesn't explain the prices listed are based on a 2-year billing term, not the standard 1-yr term. You will also see the price chart when you click on Upgrade on your editor. However, the prices don't match. For example, the Premium plan is listed at $7.95/month for the 2-year term. But on the price chart displayed for upgrades lists the regular price of the plan is $9.22/month for the 2-year term. This makes you wonder which price will be used for renewal when WebsiteBuilder states they will "renew your account at the listed non discount price."
